I don’t even know how to describe Jessie’s contagious personality! We were laughing about 2.3 seconds into her session and never stopped. She takes any situation and makes it beyond fun. I love that she has a big dream and is going after it.
Meet Jessie.

What are your favorite activities?
Reading, acting, writing, EATING, sleeping, playing the piano, the occasional chopping of wood.

What activities are you involved with at school or outside of school?
I’m in the plays and choir; I was also in the foreign language Quiz Bowl last year. I’m technically the cross country manager, though my title is somewhat loosely interpreted.

Do you volunteer your time anywhere?
I’m involved in Threadheads! Essentially, we knit various items and sell them; all proceeds to go Loving South Africa, an organization that helps people in Africa who suffer from AIDS or its effects.

What do you do on a typical night out with friends?
Watch Disney movies, get into crazy shenanigans (strictly legal), have Ke$ha dance parties, concoct goodies that we’ll regret eating in the morning…sometimes we laugh. Or watch Titanic.

What type of music makes you get up and dance?
Lady Gaga is my main girl…but a good Irish jig does the trick as well.

Who is your favorite band/music artist?
Arcade Fire, Illinois, Elton John, The Killers, Shania Twain…I’m a little embarrassed of how many show tunes are on my iPod.

What movie makes you happy? What movie makes you cry?
Happy – Brigadoon, Hitch, It’s A Wonderful Life / Cry – The Green Mile, Beauty and the Beast, Pride and Prejudice, The Royal Tenenbaums, Titanic…basically all movies.

What TV show are you addicted to?
I watch Glee like it’s my job. Also The Glee Project. Lost was my fave until it ended…sad day.

Do you have a book you could read over and over?
So, so many. I Capture the Castle, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Harry Potter, anything by Mr. Shakespeare, the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson, etc.

What food does your family cook that you will miss when you go to college?
Gah! Chicken breast supreme (basically chicken baked in bread crumbs, ranch, and some delicious powder) with Sister Schuster rolls, cranberry sauce, yams, and broccoli. Thinking about it is literally making me tear up.

When you were little, what did you dream of being when you grew up?
A painter.

Who are your role models and why?
My mother is a true testament to what a Godly woman should be and I can only hope that by her example my daughter will be able to say the same about me.

What are your hopes/plans for the future?
I’m desperately hoping to be on Broadway and then write a bestseller, but God may or may not choose a more low-key profession.

What do you want people to remember about you when they look back on your senior year?
That I spoke the truth in love and had my heart set on heavenly things.
